Education Program

If you are an educator and are looking to use one of our games in your classroom or other educational setting, please fill out a wholesale request form with your edu or institution email to sign up for our Education Program!

The Education Program and its benefits are also available to all Non-Profits and Libraries.

After being accepted into the program you will receive the following benefits:

License Summary

What You Can Do

  • Share PDFs with your students for classroom, at-home, or after-school use
  • Let students keep their digital copies

  • Use books and materials freely within your classroom or program

What You Can’t Do

  • Sell the books for profit, or sell the PDFs or copies
  • Charge students for access to the materials
  • Put PDFs behind a paywall or paid system
  • Share materials outside your class, school, or program

Library Use

  • Your school or public library can stock the books for checkout
  • These copies can be used in inter-library loan systems
  • Copies can be used for library-operated programs
  • Copies can be photocopied for personal or library use by patrons and staff

Your Responsibility as an Educator

  • You are responsible for deciding if the material is appropriate for your students
  • Pandion Games is not responsible for how materials are used in your classroom

Student Work

  • Anything your students create using these materials belongs to them
  • Pandion Games does not claim ownership of student work

Education Program Usage License

This Education Program Usage License (“License”) governs the use of materials provided by Pandion Games (“Pandion Games,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) through its Education Program (the “Materials”) by approved educators and institutions.

1. Eligibility and Admission

Pandion Games reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to approve or deny participation in the Education Program. Applicants may be required to provide proof of educator status. Admission may be declined if sufficient documentation is not provided or for any other reason deemed appropriate.

2. Grant of License

Upon acceptance into the Education Program, the educator or institution is granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Materials for educational, public, and non-profit purposes only, subject to the terms of this License.

3. Permitted Uses

3.1 Digital Materials (PDFs)

Educators may distribute digital copies of the Materials to students for use in:

  • Classroom instruction
  • At-home learning
  • After-school or extracurricular educational programs

Students may retain their digital copies indefinitely for personal educational use. Distribution must be limited to students participating in the educator’s or institution’s program.

3.2 Physical Materials

Physical copies may be used and shared within the purchasing educator’s or institution’s classroom or educational program. Educators may:

  • Photocopy pages for classroom handouts
  • Print digital Materials for student use
  • Reproduce the Materials in whole or in part for educational purposes within their program

4. Restrictions

  • Materials may not be sold, resold, licensed, or otherwise distributed for profit in any format.
  • Photocopies, printouts, or reproduced versions of the Materials may not be sold under any circumstances.
  • Digital Materials may not be:
    • Sold
    • Licensed for a fee
    • Placed behind a paywall or access-controlled system requiring payment
  • Distribution of Materials must be free of charge to students and program participants.
  • This License is limited to the educator, school, university, or district that obtained the Materials and may not be transferred or sublicensed to third parties.

5. Ownership

All rights, title, and interest in and to the Materials remain with Pandion Games or its licensors. This License does not transfer ownership of the Materials.

6. Termination

Pandion Games reserves the right to revoke this License at any time if its terms are violated. Upon termination, all use and distribution of the Materials must cease.

7. Student-Created Content

Any content created by students, educators, or participants during classroom instruction, learning activities, or other educational programs using the Materials (“Student-Created Content”) shall remain the sole and exclusive property of its creator(s).

Pandion Games makes no claim of ownership, copyright, or other intellectual property rights in or to any Student-Created Content. Use of the Materials does not grant Pandion Games any rights, title, or interest in such content.

Pandion Games shall have no obligation to monitor, retain, or use Student-Created Content unless explicitly agreed to in writing.

8. Library Use and Lending

Physical copies of the Materials may be stocked within an institution’s library and made available for checkout by students, educators, patrons, and program participants. Materials may be used by the library, staff, and patrons for library events and uses without requiring a checkout process.

Library patrons and staff may photocopy pages of Materials within the library or at home for personal or library program use.

Materials may be included in inter-library loan systems, inter-district sharing programs, or any external lending networks.

9. Educator Responsibility and Content Suitability

The educator or institution is solely responsible for reviewing the Materials and determining their suitability and age appropriateness for all participants prior to use.

Pandion Games makes no representations or warranties regarding the suitability of the Materials for any particular age group, audience, or educational setting. By using the Materials, the educator or institution assumes all responsibility for their implementation and use.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pandion Games shall not be held liable for any claims, damages, losses, or grievances arising from or related to the content of the Materials or their use within any educational program.

10. Indemnification

The educator or institution agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pandion Games, its owners, officers, employees, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, demands, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:

  • The use or misuse of the Materials
  • Any breach of this License
  • The educator’s or institution’s implementation of the Materials in any educational setting
  • Any claims made by students, parents, guardians, or third parties related to the use of the Materials

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This License shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising out of or relating to this License or the use of the Materials shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the parties hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.
